Jason and Sam Jason and Sam met in the interrogation at the PCPD. Scott Baldwin had put them in there together in the hopes that Jason would aggravate Sam and she would testify against him and Sonny. Instead, Sam was aggravated by Scott's tactics and Jason offered to cover all of her legal expenses if she did not testify. Soon Jax showed up and forced Scott to separate them. At the time, Sam was involved with Sonny. Jason offered her a million dollars to leave town and leave Sonny alone so that Michael's family would have a chance of staying intact. Sam was insulted by the offer and angrily refused. Several months later, Sam was stabbed by a man who she saw put a bomb in Sonny's car. Sonny assigned Jason to guard Sam until they could catch the bomber. Jason and Sam argued through most of this time. Sam felt that Jason disapproved of her and Jason wanted Sam to end her relationship with Sonny, since he believed Sonny would go back to Carly anyway and Sam was just making things harder. Sam learned that she was pregnant and Jason figured it out. Sam made it clear that she didn't know what she wanted to do and had no intention of telling Sonny. Jason began pressuring her to tell Sonny and to watch over her more closely. He told her about Courtney losing the baby she had not told Jason about and how he believed that things would have been different had he known. Even though they fought over this, it began the thaw in their relationship. Sonny reunited with Carly and Sam decided to have an abortion. Emily asked Jason to stop Sam from having the abortion since she did not seem sure that this was what she wanted. Jason burst into the doctor's office only to find that Sam had already backed out of the abortion. Sam finally gave in and told Sonny that she was pregnant but that the baby could also be Jax's. Jax and Sonny began to have arguments between themselves and with Sam. Sam decided to give the baby up for adoption and ran away to a convent in South America to hide out and give the baby up. Sonny sent Jason to find her. Jason tracked Sam down and tried to talk to her but Sam did not want to hear it, so Jason contacted Sonny and told him that he would have to handle this himself. Sonny flew to South America and Jax followed him. The arguing began again when they arrived. Sam fell down a flight of steps while trying to get away from the battling dads. Sonny decided that he was going to set Sam up in a house with a nurse until she could get a paternity test. Jax argued that Sam was going to stay with him. While the two men fought, Jason offered Sam a place to stay, with him. Sam took Jason up on his offer. Sam moved into Jason's apartment, but the problems between Sam, Sonny and Jax continued, so Sam got the paternity test sooner than recommended. The test showed that Sonny was the baby's father but Jason switched the results so that they showed that neither Sonny nor Jax was the baby's father. He then convinced Sam and Sonny to allow him to claim the baby. He would look after Sam and the baby and Sonny's marriage would not suffer a potentially fatal blow. Jason and Sam moved in together platonically and planned to marry for the sake of the baby. At the altar, Sam backed out since they did not love each other and asked Jason to take her home. Immediately after the aborted wedding Sam moved out and left town. Sonny again sent Jason after her. Jason found Sam in Texas where she informed him that she had lost the baby so he and Sonny were both off the hook. A storm trapped them in an empty bar where Sam realized that Jason was truly upset and guilt ridden over the loss of the baby. When she began suffering Braxton-Hicks contractions Sam admitted to Jason that she lied about losing the baby and he rushed her to the hospital. They returned to Port Charles and their previous living arrangement. Sam's ex-boyfriend Nico (who had shot Sonny in South America) attempted to kidnap her so Jason took her to Sonny's island to keep her safe. Jason killed Nico after he broke into the house and began to rough up Sam. Before dying Nico revealed that someone else was also looking for Sam. It turned out to be the police in Virginia. Sam needed to go into hiding because she was accused of setting a fire that killed her mother. While Jason worked to clear her of the charges, Sam was sneaking off to meet with someone. Jason followed her and discovered that she was meeting with Danny, her mentally challenged brother. Danny had accidentally set the fatal fire. Jason put Danny in a group home where he would be safe and paid off a death row inmate to confess to the crime clearing Sam so she could return home. While Jason was away, Sonny told Carly the truth about Sam's baby. Once Carly knew the truth, Sonny began trying to assert his legal right to the baby. Jason defended Sam and made it clear to her that she did not have to do what Sonny wanted and he would back her up in whatever choices she made. She decided that rather than have her child be an outsider in Sonny's family, she wanted Sonny to play a role in the baby's life, but for Jason to be the baby's daddy in their family where her baby would come first. Preparing for the birth of the baby, who they learned would be a girl, brought them closer together. They began to have romantic feelings for each other but tried to deny them to themselves. As the time of the baby's birth approached, Alexis' daughter, Kristina, was diagnosed with aplastic anemia and was dying in the hospital. They searched desperately for a marrow donor but no family member was a match. Carly confessed to Sonny a secret she had been keeping, he was Kristina's father. Sonny, Mike, Courtney, Ric and Morgan rushed to the hospital to be tested but again, no match. Jason told Sam that Carly keeping this secret was going to end Sonny's marriage. Sam told Jason that didn't change anything for her. She was not going after Sonny. She was not in love with him and wanted to stay with Jason and continue in their platonic family. Sam's baby's stem cells looked like the only hope left for Kristina but Sam's baby was not due for several weeks and Kristina did not have that long. Sonny asked Sam to induce labor but she refused due to the risk to her baby. Jason completely supported Sam in her decision, which Sonny accepted. Alexis, however, did not accept Sam's decision and tracked her to the hospital chapel where she bullied and badgered Sam until she agreed to induce labor. As Sam agreed to induce the labor, she collapsed in the arms of Jason, who had just arrived. She was rushed into emergency surgery for a C-section. Sam's daughter did not survive and it did not look like Sam would either. Jason sat at Sam's bedside and begged her to live and come back to him. He also went and held her baby and said goodbye for the both of them. When Sam woke up, Jason had to break the news to her and comforted her for their loss. The doctor's assured them that the scene with Alexis did not cause Sam's problem, it was a spontaneous condition, but both Jason and Sam still held this against her. Jason and Sam grieved for the baby together and became closer. They took comfort in the fact that the baby's stem cells saved Kristina's life. Although, there was no longer the baby to hold them together, Sam and Jason returned to Penthouse where they continued to grieve. Sam received alot of support and comfort from Jason,Sonny and Emily. She decided that she wanted to attend Emily and Nikolas' wedding since Emily was so good to her during her loss. Sam had too much champagne at the wedding and got drunk. Jason took her home where she talked him giving her the dance he wouldn't give her at the wedding. They danced briefly before Sam tripped and they fell to the floor where Sam kissed Jason, told him she had wanted to do that for a long time and then passed out. The next day, Sam did not remember the kiss and felt guilty for having forgotten her daughter. Jason reassured her that she had done nothing wrong. After he left, Sam remembered the kiss. When Jason returned she told him that she remembered it and promised that it would not happen again. Soon after, while trying to make dinner for Jason, Sam put the food on fire and drenched herself trying to put out the fire. Jason helped her get out of her wet sweater, they shared a meaningful glance and another kiss. Sam made it clear that she wanted a romantic and not platonic relationship with Jason. Jason admitted that he wanted the same thing but that it could not happen because of his violent lifestyle and that he would have other priorities before her. Sam told Jason that she could not stay there and pretend that she did not feel the way she did. If he did not want to be with her, she would have to leave. Jason did not try to stop her because he did not believe he could make a relationship work. Jason and Sam saw each other several times and he admitted that he did miss her and that the Penthouse felt empty without her. He invited her to come over for dinner to talk. On her way to their dinner, Sam ran into Bridget, a runaway teen whose baby Sam helped deliver. Bridget gave Sam her baby and asked her to take care of her. Sam showed up at Jason's with the baby. Jason asked Sam to move back in with him and try to have a real relationship, and Sam accepted, moving in with the baby, who she wanted to adopt and raise with Jason. Jason was initially worried about becoming attached to the baby, but eventually they both bonded with the baby who they named Hope. When Jason realized that Sam meant it when she said that she loved him and that his job could not change her feelings for him, he proposed and Sam accepted. Bridget decided that she wanted her baby back. Jason and Sam planned to fight for the baby, but Jason realized that in the end no one would let him and Sam adopt a baby and returned Hope to Bridget and her grandmother. Sam was devastated and angry. She left Jason and moved to Kelly's telling him she was going to go to Miami and start a new life. Instead she remained in Port Charles and tried to buy a black market baby. Kristina was kidnapped and Sam was arrested. Only Jason believed that Sam was innocent. He was shot helping her escape custody. Although Jason was injured, he and Sam followed up on the leads that Jason had until Jason collapsed. Sam called 911 and Jason was taken to the hospital. They had obtained enough evidence to clear Sam. When Jason recovered, Jason and Sam set out to find Kristina as well as Michael and Morgan who had also been kidnapped. The discovered that Faith was the kidnapper. Their search led them to New Orleans where they found Morgan and Kristina but Faith, who was arrested after a shootout between her and her henchmen and Sonny and Jason, told them that she had killed Michael. Jason was devastated by the loss of Michael. He needed to have his questions as to what happened and who was involved answered. Sam supported Jason and helped and encouraged him in his attempts to find answers. They eventually found reason to believe that Michael was alive and that AJ had him. They pursued their investigation until they found Michael and AJ at the Quartermaine mansion. Jason and AJ faced off and during the confrontation, they fell from the second floor landing. AJ was hospitalized and found dead shortly thereafter. It soon became clear that Michael murdered AJ. Sonny, Carly, Jason and Sam decided that this needed to be kept quiet. Sam and Jason pursued psychiatric help for Michael with Dr. Thomas, who had agreed to honor the doctor/patient confidentiality. Jason was leery about Dr. Thomas but agreed that Michael needed help. Sam believed that the secret of what happened to AJ was in Jason's mind. Jason took an experimental drug to try to remember what happened when he was in a coma. The drug caused Jason to remember that AJ and Dr. Thomas had conspired to kill him 10 years before and that Dr. Thomas killed AJ to cover this secret. While under the influence of the drug, Jason went to the Quartermaine's to confront his brother (who he did not remember was dead). He crashed his motorcycle after leaving and was hospitalized. Believing Jason was unconscious, Dr. Thomas tried to inject digitalis into his IV to stop his heart. Jason was conscious and he and Dr. Thomas fought. Sam came into the room during the fight and was taken hostage by Dr. Thomas. Jason and Sonny tracked them to the roof of GH, where Dr. Thomas injected Sam with the drug and escaped. Jason carried Sam into the hospital where Emily and Tony Jones saved her life. Monica called Jason while he was at the hospital and told him that Dr. Thomas was at the Quartermaine mansion and had taken Alan hostage. Jason went to the Quartermaine's where he shot Dr. Thomas dead, rescuing Alan and Monica. Sonny was grateful to Jason and Sam, so he arranged a vacation on a boat for them. On the trip Jason let Sam know that he still considered them engaged and wanted to use the trip to find the perfect place to hold their wedding. However, the experimental drugs were still effecting Jason and causing repeated seizures. He eventually collapsed. Sam took him to a local hospital where he awoke with no memory. Jason questioned Sam about his life and was appalled to realize that he was a hitman. Jason slipped away from Sam and returned to Port Charles. Sam followed. Jason returned to Port Charles and tried to piece together what he could of how he became who he is but could not understand how he could kill so easily. After suffering yet another seizure, Jason was hospitalized. Alan, trying to take advantage of Jason's memory loss, had him put in restraints and was attempting to drug him when Sam intervened and rescued Jason. After Jason had left the hospital, Alan and Monica convinced Sam that Jason's condition was very serious and that he required further testing. They promised that no restraints or drugs would be involved. Sam talked Jason into returning to the hospital, promising that she would be with him every step of the way and make sure that nothing was done against his will. Jason returned to the hospital and the tests showed that Jason's condition could be fatal. D. Tony Jones advised Sam that medication could work but that surgery was also an option. Sam told Tony that medication was the best idea. Jason was put on medication and released. He continued to try to remember his past and at GH remembered holding Sam's baby. Jason could not remember Sam, but he did remember that he had loved her and began to bond with her once again. At the same time, Lorenzo Alcazar brought the Ruiz crime family to town in an attempt to rid himself of Sonny and Jason once and for all. The Ruiz family shot up Sonny's house injuring his brother, Ric. Sonny turned to Jason for help but Jason refused stating that he did not know Sonny and was no longer living a life a violence. Sonny advised Jason to leave town for his own safety as a mob war was heating up and Jason would be a target. Jason did not leave since he wanted to stay in town and try to remember his life with Sam. Ric, trying to take Jason's place as Sonny's protector, set up a meeting in the park with Manny Ruiz where he planned to kill him. Ric was unable to go through with it, so Manny ordered his men to kill him. In the ensuing struggle, a wild shot nearly hit Sam who was in the park with Jason. Jason responded and injured Manny and killed his two henchmen. Ric then shot the injured Manny in the head putting him into a coma. Jason was arrested for the crime but released for lack of evidence. Sonny again recommended that Jason leave town. Jason decided to leave and to leave Sam behind so that she would not be a target with him. Before leaving he visited the baby's grave. Sam also showed up at the grave. They talked there and Jason decided that he wanted to stay with Sam. They returned to the Penthouse where the truly reconciled and made love. Manny's brother Javier came to town to avenge his brother's injury and finish his job of taking over Sonny's organization. Javier made it clear to Jason that he could not stay out of the battle, but since Jason could not remember Sonny and was therefore was no longer loyal to him, Javier wanted Jason to come in with him. Jason refused and got a job running a crane on the docks. While Jason was at work, Javier went to the Penthouse and threatened Sam to try to get Jason to work for him. Jason returned home while Javier was there, roughed him up and warned him to stay clear of Sam. Shortly afterward they decided to go to Hawaii to wait out the mob war. At the same time, Javier decided that Jason needed to die in order to clear the way to taking over Sonny's business. Jason and Sam left for Hawaii just before Manny and his gunmen burst in to their Penthouse to kill them. They lived peacefully in Hawaii for a very short while, not realizing that Manny had awakened from his coma and was out to get Jason. He tracked them down in Hawaii where he took a nonresistant Jason captive in Jason and Sam's Hawaii home and handcuffed him to a chair. Sam returned home while they were beating him. She snuck in through a window and knocked out one of Manny's men. She took his gun and entered the room where Jason was being held. She shot Manny's other man, but gave up her gun when Manny pointed his at Jason. Manny shot Jason in the leg anyway. Manny began to torment and kiss Sam. Jason broke free and took out the now conscious guard. Sam grabbed Manny's gun and held it on him. Jason then took the gun while Sam handcuffed Manny to the chair. Sam interfered when Jason went to shoot Manny and the police arrived to arrest Manny before Jason got a second chance. This incident convinced Jason that he had no choice but to return to his old life and that Sonny was in trouble and needed him. He decided to return to Port Charles immediately. Sam was to follow the next day. Jason arrived at the end of a gunfight between Sonny and Reese and Javier's gunmen. Javier was about to shoot and kill Sonny and Reese when Jason showed up and killed him. Later at the hospital, he informed Sonny that he was back full time. Sam arrived with news that Manny had escaped. Manny began a campaign of torment directed at Jason and Sam. When Jason left Sam with the guards while he went to find Manny, Manny snuck into the bathroom while she was in the shower. Sam shot him but he escaped. Jason decided that he was going to keep Sam with him while he searched for Manny since there was no else he trusted with her safety. In the meantime, Jason's seizures were increasing in both intensity and frequency. Sam convinced him to go back to the doctor where they were informed that the medicine was no longer working and without surgery, Jason would die. Jason refused the surgery, fearing that it could leave him incapacitated. Tony Jones offered a second option, an experimental drug treatment that might help. The treatment was being pioneered by Jason's first love, Robin Scorpio. Sam tried to convince Jason to get the treatment but he refused because he had a brief memory of Robin and did not trust her. Also, he would not allow himself to be put under the influence of drugs for several days while Manny was still a threat. He and Sam followed a lead that lead them to the apartment house where Manny was holed up. Just outside the door of Manny's apartment, Jason suffered a seizure that took him off his feet and cause him to become temporarily blind. Manny came out at that moment and took Sam and Jason captive. Manny was preparing to kill Sam when Jason recovered from the seizure and attacked him. The police (who had been called by the Landlord who was suspicious of Jason and Sam) arrived and arrested Manny again. While being returned to Hawaii, Manny caused the plane to go down and he was presumed dead, but Manny had escaped the plane before it crashed. Sam tried to convince Jason to get the drug treatment, but he adamantly refused, his only memory of Robin being when she betrayed his secret about Michael to AJ. Sam decided to go to New York where Robin was speaking and bring her back anyway. While Sam was in New York meeting Robin, who was planning to go to Port Charles and treat Jason already, Jason suffered an even more severe seizure. Michael called an ambulance and Tony Jones was preparing to operate. Jason regained consciousness and refused the surgery, Monica backed him up, so Tony had no choice but to agree. While at the hospital Jason received word that the train carrying Sam and Robin had crashed. Despite Monica's warning that he would most likely die if he left the hospital, Jason hurried to the crash site. Jason had a railway worker show him where to find the ventilation shaft for the tunnel where the train had crashed, and Jason entered the tunnel to find Sam. He found Sam unconscious and buried in the rubble of a cave-in. He dug Sam free and held her until she regained consciousness. Jason and Sam then returned to the wreckage and freed Robin, who was pinned in the rubble. Unfortunately, they were unable to retrieve Robin's briefcase which contained the her HIV medicine and the medicine for Jason's treatment. Sam informed Jason that the crash was caused by Manny who was in the tunnel somewhere. Jason got Sam and Robin to the where the rest of the passengers were awaiting rescue. Jason saw Carly in the tunnels but Sonny, Sam and Reese thought that he was hallucinating due to his worsening condition since Carly was in Roselawn mental hospital. Sam, Robin and Sonny returned to the railcar where Jason found Robin to try to get the briefcase. They insisted that Jason stay with the others as his seizures were so frequent that he would only slow them down. They found the briefcase but were confronted by an armed Manny outside the railcar. Max observed Manny harassing and threatening them but was too injured to help (he had been shot by Manny earlier). Max found Jason and let him know what was going on. Manny shot Robin in the arm, knocked Sonny to the ground and was about to shoot Sam when Jason arrived and stabbed him with a railroad spike. Sam gave Jason a shot of the medicine to temporarily stop the seizures. Sonny told Jason that he had also found Carly's charm bracelet in the railcar, so she was really hiding in the tunnel. They decided since Jason was the only one Carly didn't hide from that he and Sam should search for her. While searching for Carly (who had been rescued and returned to Roselawn by Lorenzo), they discovered that the tunnel was wired to explode. They made their way through the tunnel disarming bombs and searching for Carly until Sonny showed up to tell them the rescuers had arrived. Jason made Sam leave with Sonny while he continued the search. Shortly afterward the tunnel exploded and Jason was presumed dead. Carly returned to the tunnel when she learned Jason was missing and they found each other in the tunnel and escaped. Jason returned Carly to Roselawn and hurried back to the crash site to be reunited with Sam. Jason agreed to try Robin's treatment. He and Sam went to the hospital. Before starting treatment Jason proposed to Sam and offered her a ring. Sam reminded him that although he couldn't remember it, they were already engaged. Jason told her that he just needed to hear her say it before he started the treatment. Sam again accepted his proposal. Under Robin's treatment, Jason was violently delirious for several days, even flat lining once. Although Sam forced Robin to stop the treatment because of its effects on him, Jason made her continue. The treatment was only partially successful, Jason's memory of the last 10 years was restored but he was still dying. Told that he would only survive a matter of days without surgery, Jason opted to take Sam and return to Hawaii to spent whatever time he had left with her. Sonny followed them to Hawaii to try to persuade Jason to get the surgery. Jason still refused. Sam became hysterical during Sonny's visit pouring out her fear and grief. After Sonny left, Jason told Sam that he had changed his mind, he would have the surgery for her. They returned to Port Charles where Patrick Drake performed the surgery successfully despite an escaped Manny creating a hostage situation in the OR before being rearrested. Manny was also found to have a brain condition and operated on. He went to trial with the defense that his brain tumor caused his violent behavior and that he was no longer dangerous. Sam did not believe this and Jason trusted her instinct. She was proved right when Manny accosted her in the witness room at the courthouse. Sam testified to what happened but Alexis made her appear to be hysterical and vindictive. Jason also testified that he could see no change in Manny. The judge believe Manny and sentenced him to community service at GH. A deadly virus struck Port Charles and Sam fell ill. Jason and Carly went in search of the antidote. After finding one vial of the antidote, only to have it destroyed in a gunfight, Jason returned to GH to find that Sam was in much worse shape and not expected to live. Carly got another lead on the antidote. This time they found an entire case. They got it to GH in time to save Sam and many of the victims. Unfortunately, they were too late to save Sam's brother Danny. Danny told Sam before he did that their parents had picked her out special to be his sister. This left Sam and Jason wondering what he could have meant. Jason suspected that Sam might have been adopted. A DNA test with Danny proved this to be true. Jason and Sam went in search of her birth mother and soon found her to be their nemesis, Alexis Davis. Sam decided that this was not something she wanted to share with Alexis. Sam began to develop a little bit of an obsession with Alexis and her family, watching them and Alexis' relationship with her daughters. Seeing Alexis' love for her girls hurt Sam and caused her to become with Alexis. Alexis, feeling that she benefited from so many painful incidents in Sam's life, tried to make peace but Sam wasn't having it. One night Sam and Alexis were accidentally locked in a witness room at the courthouse. There they bonded and Alexis told Sam about giving up her first child and the pain it caused her. Sam started to soften towards Alexis but when Alexis began to attack Sam's relationship with Jason once again, Sam decided not to tell her. In the meantime, Sonny and Jason had a falling out over Emily. In attempt to make Sonny give up his sister, Jason seized control of Sonny's organization. Juan Escobar, the head of another crime family pressured Jason to kill Sonny. Jason responded by killing Escobar. Seeing the opportunity to regain control, Sonny turned Jason in for the crime and even identified him. Jason was held for several days before being released for lack of evidence. He went straight to the Metro Court to find Sam. Sam ran to him on the balcony and was shot in his arms. While Manny was the shooter and Sam the target, everyone, including Jason thought that Sam was accidentally shot in a hit on Jason. Sam was rushed to GH and underwent emergency surgery. The surgery was successful but Sam's blood wasn't clotting properly. She was dying, only constant blood transfusions were keeping her alive. Jason went to Alexis and told her that Sam was her daughter. Alexis hurried to Sam's side. Sam's condition had worsened, she had problems with her brain from the repeated blood transfusions. Sam went unconscious and Jason and Alexis immediately disagreed on Sam's treatment. Jason approved brain surgery for Sam but Alexis got a court order to prevent it. Patrick Drake agreed with Jason and performed the surgery in defiance of the court order. Alexis had Jason and the medical team arrested for defying the court order but dropped the charges after the surgery proved to have saved Sam's life. While Sam was still unconscious, Alexis convinced Jason to end his relationship with Sam for her own protection. Jason broke up with Sam as soon as she regained consciousness. Sam moved into Alexis' Lakehouse and tried to start a life with her new family but she continued to fight for Jason as she tried to make him see that they belonged together. Jason admitted that he still loved her but refused to reunited with her for fear her would get her killed. Sam was kidnapped from the Lakehouse by Manny, who held her prisoner in the hospital basement. Jason rescued Sam and killed Manny but was shot and gravely wounded in the process. Sam believed that with Manny dead they would be able to reunite but Jason continued to shut her out. Heartbroken, Sam left the hospital and threw away her star necklace on her way out. Sam made it clear to Jason that they could not be friends because of his rejection of her. They continued to run into each other and it was clear that they were still very much in love. Sam continued to fight for Jason until one night they met in the Metro Court balcony and for a second Sam believed that they were reuniting until Jason made his fears so graphically clear that she gave up all hope. Heartbroken, Sam returned to the Lakehouse only to be once again verbally abused by Alexis. When Ric defended her, Alexis turned her venom on him and then left the house. Sam and Ric started to drink together, got drink and had sex. In the meantime, Jason discussed the situation with Carly who convinced him that since he and Sam loved each other he was doing Sam more harm than good by pushing her away. She also warned that Sam was on the verge of doing something self-destructive. Jason headed to the Lakehouse to ask Sam to come back to him and arrived just in time to see Sam and Ric having sex. Devastated, Jason returned to the Penthouse and started to drink. Liz showed up at his door to cry to him about her marital woes. They continued to drink together and also had sex. The following day, Jason and Sam confessed their indiscretions to each other. They believed that their relationship was totally over because of that night and Sam made plans to leave town immediately. She was stopped, however, when she found out that Alexis had lung cancer and needed Sam to be there for her sisters. Jason tried to be there for Sam as a friend during the crisis but the relationship was still strained. When Alexis needed surgery to remove part of her lung, Jason went to the hospital to be with Sam because he loved her too much to leave her alone in her time of need. Sam sent him away because just before Alexis went into surgery Sam promised her she would stay away from Jason. The surgery was successful and after witnessing a close moment between Alexis and Ric, Sam headed to the Penthouse to talk to Jason about why he came to her at the hospital and try to reconcile. Now that the surgery was successful and Alexis and Sam were okay, Jason was back to his old closed off position. Sam forced an argument and they both let out all of the pain and anger they felt over that night. After the argument, they began to talk and decided that they needed to try to get past it because they did not want to lose each other. Sam returned her engagement ring to Jason, asking him to put it back on her finger when they were both ready to make those promises again. Jason and Sam continued to meet in secret just to talk,since they did not want to hinder Alexis recovery but these meetings did not help them to move their relationship forward. They were hurting each other as much trying to be together as they were being apart. In the meantime, Elizabeth discovered she was pregnant but did not know who the daddy was. She told Jason about it to get a DNA sample for the paternity test. Jason told Sam and her world was truly shattered. Jason was very sorry for hurting her but did not know how to make things better. He told Sam that he wanted to be with her even if he was the baby's daddy and asked if she also would want him if the baby was his. Sam said that she did and they tried to move ahead. Liz got the paternity test results which stated that Jason was the father but she let everyone believe that Lucky was the father. Ric found out about Liz and Jason and decided that he wanted to see Jason dead or in prison. He goaded Jason by bad mouthing Sam until Jason nearly beat him to death. He then had Jason arrested for attempted murder. Sonny and Alexis forced him to drop the charges but in the process it came out that Alexis knew about Ric and Sam's one night stand and she threw them both out of her life. Sam moved to Kelly's and continued to work at the PCPD. Jason planned a special night for Sam on Halloween. They had a rooftop dinner and talked and began to plan for a future together. They were interrupted when Sam was arrested because Ric framed her as part of a plan to get Jason and Sam killed while resisting arrest. Jason assured Sam that he was working on getting her the best lawyer available and that he would get her out of it. Ric later used photos of Jason and Liz on the docks to convince Sam that Jason planned to leave her to her fate so he could be with Liz. Sam freaked out and escaped custody. Jason heard almost instantly of the escape from his source in the department and went to Sam and helped her escape cleanly. Jason wanted to leave the country and let Sonny work everything out but Sam wanted to stay and fight. They stayed and tried to track down a techno-geek, Spinelli, who created the false evidence and could clear Sam. They found Spinelli and contacted Sonny to arrange their surrender. Ric found out about their plans and he and Alcazar arranged a ambush. When Jason, Sam and Spinelli left the safehouse their car exploded. They escaped unharmed but were immediately faced with several gunmen. While trying to escape the gunmen, Sam shot and killed Diego in front of Kristina who was traumatized by the incident. Sam went to Kristina and could not continue to flee but she begged Jason to go after Spinelli who had taken off. Cruz arrived and arrested Sam without incident. Ric and the other officers went after Jason who had caught up to Spinelli. The police ordered Jason to drop his weapon, which he did while Spinelli escaped yet again. Ric shouted that Jason had another gun and the police opened fire as Jason attempted to surrender, unarmed. Jason jumped off the building into the lake after being shot and was presumed dead. Sonny came to Sam and let her know that Jason was still alive and in hiding. Alexis agreed to take Sam's case and Ric released her in the hopes of the police following her to Jason where they could both be killed by the police. Jason was gone when Sam went to find him. Carly contacted Sam to come meet Jason. Jason and Sam met briefly at Metro Court where he told her goodbye before he left to find Spinelli to try to clear their names. Jason and Lulu headed to Tennessee where they found Spinelli and brought him back. Spinelli showed the police how he created false evidence and the charges against Jason and Spinelli were dropped, though the murder charges against Sam remained. Jason went to the Lakehouse and got Sam and brought her home. Alexis insisted on defending Sam and because of her health and the weakness of the case, Ric dropped the murder charges against her. Jason and Sam went back the Penthouse and resumed their lives. Sam wanted to have a baby but Jason was hesitant. Sam was willing to wait until Jason could work it out for himself. They shared Christmas with family and friends. At the GH Christmas party, Sam got traumatized Kristina to speak. Back at the Penthouse, Jason gave same a new star necklace to replace the one she threw away. On New Years Eve, Sam set up a quiet celebration but she did not think Jason would get there because the roads were closed due to a storm. Jason made it through the storm to see the New Year in with Sam and told her that he did want to have a baby with her. After Sam quit her job at GH after a fight with Liz, she went to work for ELQ. Edward was pressuring her to have a baby until Jason stepped in and made her stop. Tracy blackmailed her into quitting with the secret that she had been married multiple times and scammed the husbands out of their money. Sam then went to work at the Metro Court. When Sam didn't get pregnant quickly she went for a check-up and was told that she couldn't have kids. Before she could tell Jason, Mr. Craig and his cohorts took the Metro Court hostage. Jason snuck into the Metro Court to try to save Sam and his family and friends. Jason helped Sam to escape so that she could warn the police that lobby was wired to explode. When the lobby exploded, Jason was trapped in the elevator with Liz where she told him that he was her baby's father. After they were rescued, Jason went to tell Sam about the baby but she told him that she couldn't have kids before he had the chance and he didn't tell her. Alan died later that day. The next day, Liz came to him and said that she wanted to remarry Lucky and pass the baby off as his. Jason agreed and decided not to tell Sam about the baby. After being seen on TV as the Metro Court hero, Sam was offered a job on the TV show Everyday Heros but Amelia really offered her the job as part of a revenge plot because her father was Sam's final husband scam and Sam killed him when he tried to kill her. Amelia started to manipulate Sam so that she was spending more and more time away from Jason. She also kept going to Jason and telling him that he was bad for Sam's career. Between their secrets and their jobs, Jason and Sam were spending less and less time together. While Sam was out of town, Jason went to check on Liz and found her unconscious and in labor. He rushed her to the hospital where Jake was born. The baby was okay but Liz was unconscious and in danger of dying. Sam got back to town and Sonny told her what was going on with Liz. Sam hurried to the hospital to check on Liz. When she arrived, the crisis had passed and Liz and Jason were talking. Sam overheard Liz mention that Jason was the baby's father and was devastated. Sam start to scheme to get Jason to tell her the truth. She confided in Amelia about Jake beig Jason's. Jason's guilt caused him to pull away everytime Sam tried to get him to tell. Their relationship suffered from the weight of the lies, secrets, guilt and Liz and Amelia's manipulations. While Sam was out of town again, Jason was arrested for the murder of Lorenzo Alcazar. He didn't call Sam and she found out from Ric. Sam went to see Jason and he said he didn't call her because he didn't want to hurt her job. Soon after Jason's arrest, Jake was kidnapped. Sam saw the kidnapping and did nothing to stop it. Jason found out when he rescued the baby. When Amelia told Sam that Jason knew, Sam got Spinelli to help her get into the prison to see him. At the prison all the cards were laid out on the table and Sam broke up with Jason. She still testified for him at his trial. Jason and Sam ran into each other briefly as she moved out the last of her boxes. He tried to return her star necklace but Sam said she wanted no reminders. Things then spiral farther down for Jason and Sam as Sam hired thugs to threaten Liz and the boys in the park and Jason threatened Sam's life. Sam started to see Lucky and Jason started to see Liz in secret. In the meantime, Jason and Sam started to soften toward each other. After Michael's shooting, Jason and Sam ran into each other at the hospital and laid their anger to rest once and for all. Sam and Jason continued on their own lives, but eventually crossed paths again due to the same foes, Jerry and Russian mobster, Karpov. Sam had been investigating a counterfeit drug ring headed by Karpov and Jerry who was working with him. Jason, being the current mob boss in Port Charles, had a truce with Karpov, allowing their shipments into his docks which was beneficial for both of them. After Kate got shot, Sonny went looking for revenge, suspecting that it was Karpov. Tensions between Sonny and Jason and Jason and Karpov intensified. One night on the docks, Jason encountered Sam right before an explosion knocked them both to the ground. Jason took Sam back to his penthouse where she explained her involvement with Karpov, the counterfeit drugs and the connection between Karpov and Jerry. Jerry came by the penthouse while Sam hid. He informed Jason about Sam's involvement with Karpov as well as her recent arrest. He encouraged Jason not to break peace with Karpov for Sam. After he left, Jason wanted to help Sam but she didn't want him to get involved and put his truce with Karpov in jeopardy. When she returned to her apartment, her phone rangs. It was Jason, making sure she got home safely. She told him she made it but Jerry came up behind her and grabbed her, sending the phone to the floor with Jason on the line. Jason rushed to Sam's apartment. Jerry told Sam to get rid of Jason, or he would kill him. Sam opened the door and gots rid of Jason by reminding him of how hurt she was by him. Jason apologized and left. Jason went back to his penthouse and noticed the blood on the table, realizing that Jerry saw it as well when he was over. Jason went back to Sam's, but only found the detonator that Sam dropped do he would know she was in trouble. Sam had been taken captive on a freighter. Jerry told her of his plan to make everyone think he was dead by blowing up the boat with her on it, tying up all the loose ends. Jerry placed a bomb near Sam with the clock ticking away. Jason found his way to the freighter and found Sam. He was helping free her from the handcuffs when Jerry walked in with a gun. Jason gave Sam a look and Sam shot at Jerry. While Jason struggled with Jerry, Sam freed herself. They ran out the room and jumped off the boat just as the bomb went off, while Jerry was trapped below in the netting. Everyone assumed he died in the explosion. Later, Sam ran into Jason at the coffeehouse. They talk about the Russians and she offered to help him. Jason didn't want her involved and she told him she was already in with the Russians. He told her that it was too much to risk as he is planning on killing all of them. Sam assured him that she was not Elizabeth and that he didn’t have to worry about her. She also reminded him that he was in no position to turn down her offer of assistance. At a Karpov warehouse, Sam watched guns being loaded when a shootout began. Sam ducked behind the crates for cover and started firing. Realizing it was Jason, who she almost shot, shooting at Karpov's men, Sam joined Jason and got to safety. Sam and Jason arrived at Elizabeth's home to speak to her and Lucky. Jason informed them that they all needed to get to safety while he went after the Russians. Sam took Elizabeth and her boys to a cabin tom lay low while the mob war was going on in Port Charles. As they get ready to leave, they didn't realize the Russians were watching them. While at the cabin, Sam realized that the Russians had followed them. She did her best to fend off the incoming gunfire but Jake was taken. Jason arrived, after being held for questioning for the earlier shootout at the warehouse, to fin Elizabeth screaming outside. Sam jumped in the car and told him the Russians took Jake. Sam tells Jason she will do whatever it takes to get Jake back. They found the guards at a roadhouse. Sam conned her way in by telling Sasha she was looking for work. Sam found Jake in a room but Sasha came up behind her with a knife. They struggled and fought while Jason shot it out with the other armed Russians. As Jason got the upperhand, he realized one of them had detonated a bomb. Jason was thrown outside to safety as the roadhouse burned up. For a split second Jason believed Jake was still in there until Sam came out carrying Jake. She had jumped out the window with Jake before the road house exploded. Jason and Sam returned to Port Charles, and took Jake home to Liz and Lucky. Jason beat himself up for putting Jake in harm. Sam tried to comfort him, telling him that he saved Jake but he wouldn't listen and said he can never be a father to Jake. He finally ended it with Elizabeth for good. He had Diane transfer money and a house to Elizabeth, but to made it look like it came from Emily. Sam and Jason were briefly questioned by an FBI Agent, Raynor. Sam brought up Sasha, Karpov's lawyer who was currently handling the Russian connection in Port Charles since Karpov's death. Jason said he would handle her but Sam responded, not if she saw her first and walked away. Agent Raynor later came to Jason and offered him immunity if he gives up Sonny and Zachara. Jason initially refused. Sam was walking home with groceries when she saw Sasha and another Russian come out of a van. Sam picked the lock and hid in the back. She looked through some of their files and hid when Sasha returned to the vehicle. Sam heard her talking about eliminating Jason Morgan. They drove off with Sam still in the back. When they arrived, Sam listened in to more of their conversation. Sam was about to dial Jason's number when she was cornered by two Russians. When they were about to kill her, Sam tokk her lock pick and stabbed one of the Russians, ran to escape, but fell into a pit. She tried to get out but her previous hip injury kept her from climbing up. Sam got cold, fell asleep and dreamt of Lucky, Alexis and a scenario where she stopped Maureen from kidnapping Jake. Lucky visited Jason looking for Sam. Jason didn't know where Sam was but believed Sam went after the Russians alone. Sasha called Jason, telling him that in exchange for Sam's whereabouts she wanted him to help finance her escape from Port Charles. Before Sasha can tell Jason Sam's location, she was shot by a sniper. With Spinelli's help, Jason found Sam, who was suffering from hypothermia and put his jacket over her. She apologized to Jason for letting Jake get kidnapped by Maureen. He told her it was in the past before she fell asleep again while he tried to keep her warm until the rescue team arrived. After returning safely to Port Charles, Sam called Jason and informed him of Agent Raynor asking more questions. He told her of his immunity offer and they both worried about Spinelli being used in Agent Raynor's agenda. While Agent Raynor was sniffing around, Sam and Jason both tried to keep Spinelli out of their business to protect him from prosecution but he was arrested to get Jason to turn against Sonny. Jason agreed to help if Spinelli was cleared. Jason informed Sam that he accepted the deal to protect Spinelli. Sam offered her help with getting information on Zacharra. Jason thought it was risky but Sam felt it was worth the risk. In the midst of dealing with the feds and Zacharras, Raynor came to Jason about a hijacked truck carrying poison gas. Jason droves to the hospital after learning that the driver was in an accident with Sam. Jason believed the driver hd swallowed the poison. When the driver went to surgery, the OR team exposed themselves and part of the hospital with the posion gas. The hospital was quarantined while Sam, Jason and Spinelli realized one of the poison gas spheres was stolen. Panic set in and a man tried to leave the quarantined area. Jason and Sam stopped him but not before Sam shots Jason in the arm. They argued about it and Jason joked that he won't make the mistake to tell her to take the shot again. In the meantime, Sonny found out Zacharra had Kate shot. Jason convinced Sonny not to kill Zachara so Spinelli wouldn't go to jail. It was revealed that Zacharra could walk. An explosion rocked the hospital, setting it on fire. Sam and Jason work together to evacuate the people in the hospital to the roof for air transport. While Sam was busy helping patients to the roof, while Jason managed the fire and tried to bring out Anthony Zacharra alive. While Jason was searching for Anthony, he found Claudia and carried her to a safe place where Kate was. Kate informed Jason that Sam went after Trevor who had one of the posion capsules. Patrick also informed Jason that Spinelli had gone missing. Sam followed Trevor to the roof but Trevor was on the wrong side, the helipad was on the other side of the building. He threatened to drop the capsule over the side if she cames any closer. Sam tried to bargain with Trevor for the capsule. She held a gun on him, but Trevor thres the ball in the air. Sam went after it and they both went over the edge. Trevor fell to his death while Sam struggled to hold on, calling for help. Jason ran to the roof where he heard Sam calling for help. He sees her hanging from the ledge and pulled her up. He caught the posion capsule before it fell. They went to look for Spinelli. They found him in a vent. The stairwell was engulfed in flames, so they all ran for it holding hands so they wouldn't get separated. They made it out alive. Sam broke up with Lucky, telling him that was over and he deserved to be happy. Alexis warned Sam not to get too involved with Jason. If she ended up being prosecuted by the FBI, she would have to serve a full sentence. Jason wanted his old job back and wanted Sonny to take the business back. They both agreed to go back to how it was. Sonny informed Jason that they located Zacharra. Jason called Sam. He needed her help to get to Anthony. Sam and Jason pretended to be a couple looking for her father, Anthony Zachara but Zacharra had been tipped off and is gone. Jason found out that Zacharra took Claudia hostage. Jason located Zacharra, while he talked Sonny through dismantling a bomb to save Claudia. Jason then called Raynor and told him where he could find Zacharra. Raynor set Spinelli free but still wanted Sonny. Jason told Sam he still needs to get Spinelli out of the country if he can't get Raynor to back off on giving up Sonny. Spinelli tooks off on his own. Sam and Jason followed after him to LA. Spinelli got tangled up with criminals but Sam and Jason rescued him. They returned to Port Charles with the intention to rid the evidence the FBI has on Spinelli so they can't use him to get Jason to do what they want. Jason distracted Raynor while Sam and Winifred broke into the evidence room and Sam switched the flashdrives. When Raynor asks for the evidence to put Spinelli and Jason behind bars, an agent tells Raynor that the flash drive is blank. Jason and Spinelli were free. Sam focused on getting her PI License and setting up her business with Spinelli, a PI firm, McCall and Jackal. Jason focused on transitioning the business back to Sonny while helping fund Sam and Spinelli's PI Business. When things seem to be quieting down, Ric told Jason that Claudia was responsible for Michael's shooting, but the only proof he had, a DVD, was wrecked. Sonny wanted Jason to find Jerry to see what he knows. When Jason found Jerry, Jerry's car blew up and he escaped. Because Jax confirmed existence of the DVD that Ric mentioned, Jason became convinced of Claudia's guilt in Michael's shooting. Carly and Sonny decide that Micheal should get experimental surgery to try to bring him out of the coma. While Michael's life was on the line, Jason escaped to the roof for air. Sam found him up there offering a much needed ear. He thanked her for listening and reminding him what is important, Michael and not getting revenge against Claudia. Michael woke up but was angry and confused. They all worried that Michael might have suffered permanent brain damage. Sam and Jason discussed the type of support Michael might need and Sam convinced him that Michael will need him to help him through this. Jason continued to be angery that Claudia was close to Michael, as if she did nothing wrong. With Sam's help, Jason found the man that set up the car bomb that allowed Jerry to escape. He told Jason that Claudia hired him and he has proof. Jason was convinced of Claudia's culpability and that Johnny was helping her cover it up. Jason tried to mediate between Carly and Sonny in order to do what was best for Michael. Sam was busy with her PI work, most cases being about cheating spouses. One of her cheating spouse cases was the mayor. When a cop came to get any evidence she had over the Mayor, threatening Sam, Jason clobbered him over the head. Spinelli ended up handling the rest of the case when Sam gave him the information on the Mayor's mistress Brianna. Later, Sam and Jason swapped stories about the trouble the Corinthos children were getting into, particularly Michael and Kristina. A new player came to town named Dominic (who is really Dante, a cop and the secret son of Sonny by Olivia) who wanted to work for Sonny instead of the Zacharras. Jason asked Sam to do a background check. She ran a background check and it seemed that Dominic is legit. Claudia was accidentially run off the road. As a result of her injuries she lost her child. Both Michael and Kristina believe they did it. Jason tells Sam about Michael's possible involvement and Sam tells Jason about Kristina. Michael ran away to Mexico and Kristina went with him. Jason and Sam both decided to bring the kids back. There were a few funny mishaps and rememberance of old times in Hawaii while on the road and also a tense moment of attraction between the two before they seperated in order to cover more ground in Mexico. Sam found the kid's hotel room first and left Jason a message to head in her direction. Unfortunately, Claudia, thinking Michael had run her down causing her to lose her baby, sent Jerry after the kids. As Sam approaches their hotel room, Jerry surprised her with a gun at her head. He drug Sam to an abandoned church and demanded she call Jason. Sam did, but not before warning him that Jerry had her and he was setting up a trap to kill Jason. Jerry took Sam to a different place, informing her that he had sold her to a drug dealer in Mexico. He left her cuffed to a chair to go back to the church, planning on killing Jason. Sam knocked out the drug dealer and escaped. Jason and Jerry shot it out in the church while Jerry taunted him about Sam, Michael and Kristina. Jerry came up on Jason and they started fighting. In the fight they hit an old support beam and it crumbled, bringing down the balcony above on top of them. Jerry got out of the rubble and shot Jason in the shoulder and leg. He asked Jason if he had any last requests and Jason wanted to know if Claudia was responsible for Michael's shooting. Jerry didn't tell him either way, he just left. Jason hallucinated all of the people he thought he failed, Michael, Kristina and Carly. He then saw Sam and was not sure if she was real or not. Sam was real. Sam was trying to help Jason but he was worried about Michael and Kristina. Sam told him that they got away from Jerry and were fine, that he was the one in trouble. Sam's car was broken down and Jerry had disabled Jason's. There was no cell phone reception, so Sam had to tend to Jason's wounds in a room in the abandoned church. Sam got the bullet out and bandaged him while talking about Michael and Kristina to keep him concious. Jason fell asleep while Sam tried to bring down his fever. He became delerious and thought that it was 2005 and they were in Hawaii. While laying on her lap and still hallucinating, Jason told Sam he loves her and Sam told him she loves him. In the morning, Jason was better. Sam returned with fresh bandages and tried to get him to rest, afraid he will become delirious again. Jason wanted to know what he said and if he talked about Hawaii because he remembered dreaming about it. Sam left to work on the car and when she returned with a bowl of water, she almost knocked into Jason. Sam helped him sit, her hand lingering on his. She moved to the bowl and towel talking about Jerry. Jason came up behind her, took the towel from her and washed her hand and arms. Jason turned Sam's face to wipe it with the towel and kissed her. Jason and Sam made love in the abandoned church. Afterwards, while both were laying together in bed, Sam jumps up and ran out saying she needed to work on the car. Sam returned to a dressed Jason checking their supplies. Before they left, Sam asked Jason if he wanted to talk about what happened. He asked if she wanted to and she said no, so Jason said no. On the road again, to find Michael and Kristina, Jason and Sam ended up listening to a radio show that described their current relationship and what had happened in the abandoned church to a tee. Sam stopped the car to sleep and ended up snuggled on Jason's arm. Jason awoke in the night, moving slightly and awoke Sam. They shared another kiss. They found Michael and Kristina working at a surf shop in Mexico and convinced the teens to return to Port Charles. Back in Port Charles, Spinelli and Maxie saw Sam and Jason kiss. They pushed Jason to ask Sam to a carnival. Sam accepted but then tried her best to get out of it. Carly having figured out that Jason and Sam slept together again, warned him that Sam will try not to crowd him. Jason did everything he could to spend the day with Sam, even going on one of her stakeouts. They eventually made it to the carnival, but disaster strucke as Edward crashed his car into the Carnival. Many are hurt, including Jake. Jason waited in the hospital to see if he was okay. He asked Sam to stay with him. She did and they recieved the news that Jake was okay together. They went back to Sam's apartment where Sam told Jason she was enjoying the time she was spending with him but didn't want to ruin it by talking about it too much. Jason agreed. Michael called Sam telling her he needed her help but she can't tell Jason. Michael was remembering the conversations people had by his bedside. Eventually Sam told Jason and explained Michael didn't want Jason to know because he was afraid he would take extreme action. One of his memories was of Claudia apologizing for what happened to him.
Sam and Jason continued to try to find evidence to prove that Claudia was responsible for Michael's shooting. Jason was also dealing with a possible leak in their organization, unaware that it is Dominic. There was also the threat of Joey Limbo from the Zachara organization. Jason and Sam tracked down evidence left by Ian Devlin. They found a CD of a conversation recorded between Ian, Claudia and Jerry that proved Claudia was part of orchestrating the hit on Sonny that got Michael shot. They discussed the best plan of action and Jason decided to give the evidence to Sonny when he returned from Puerto Rico. Jason played the CD for Sonny. Sonny, didn't do anything immediately, instead at Claudia's birthday party, he exposed her for what she did. Claudia panicked and took in labor Carly hostage in order to escape. Jason and Sam went after them. They arrived at a cabin and found a dead Claudia on the floor with Michael standing over her. Jason gave Carly her newborn baby and they all worked to cover up what happened. Sam took Carly to the hospital alone while Jason stayed back with Michael. He began the clean up and when Sonny arrived, he sent Michael home with him. Jason buried Claudia and burned down the cabin. Unfortunately, Jason didn't realize someone had been following him and taking pictures. Jason was disturbed when Michael wasn't feeling guilty for killing Claudia and worried that he was setting a bad example. He considered quitting the hitman part of his job for awhile. He got a picture in the mail of a re-enactment of the Claudia murder scene at the cabin. Jason and Sonny went to a meeting with Joey Limbo in order to broker peace. However, Joey Limbo ambushed them and they had to shoot it out. As they were leaving, Jason saw a strange homeless guy waving at him. A witness. Jason returned to the Penthouse and wanted Spinelli to find footage of this guy. Sam came to the penthouse and informed Jason that there was news coverage of a gang shootout. Jason needed an alibi and Sam told him he was lucky because she and Spinelli were hired to do security at a major art show. When Jason attended with Sam, the artist Franco wanted to meet with Jason. Jason refused but as he watched Franco leave, he waved at Jason the same way the homeless guy did. Jason drug Sam and Spinelli out of there. They returned to his penthouse and Jason was sure after comparing surveillance footage that Franco and the homeless guy are one and the same. Jason was conflicted about what to do about Franco. Sam told Jason that she had faith in him and he should follow his instincts. |
